Green Tree - Ellen Boscov Video
Green Tree is the first in my series of haunted fairy tale art songs.
My Green tree video reflects the way my mind worked after I was molested at the age of 12. It is filled with struggle through nightmare flashbacks and fantasy escapes. In a surreal fictional way the video visits that time in my life. Through art I am sharing what once shamed me.

Ellen Boscov Green Tree Video [1]
At the time, I was too innocent to understand my own innocence. I didn’t understand why I froze – I wondered why I didn’t do or say anything to try and stop it. I didn’t know that freezing was a normal survival instinct. I have loving parents, but I hid it from them. I didn’t think I could speak to anyone about it. It’s a sweet victory to share this childhood trauma through art.
If you relate to the pain and violation the girl feels in Green Tree, I hope you will see the innocence of the girl. I hope in empathizing with the girl, you will feel for yourself. And I want you to know that you are not alone.
